The Architecture of Recovery

"Pecha Kucha" during the RIAI Conference together with the shortlisted of 3twenty10 competition  : The Architecture of Recovery - A 2020 Vision for Ireland, in Westport, Co. Mayo, from 3-5 October 2010.

Excerpt from our speach :

"We are Wish architects. We have been commissioned by the EFAP and the RIAI to work on the crisis legacy in Dublin.
However, we don’t look this situation as a problem but rather as a potential for new possibilities.
We chose six ghost estates in Dublin and propose for each one a scenario for its reactivation.
[...]we gonna present you a global strategy made of four tools :


- Fragmentation
- Step by step strategy
- Mixed uses
- Light construction


-Fragmentation : former big scale development sites are divided into affordable small plots
- Small scale make it easy to transform and reactivate

We call this ‘Plan B city’ and those Four tools should help to deal with the post bubble legacy."
